Indie studio making Cowork, a gamified accountability tool

I got a lot done today! Here’s your #Cowork update.

Features

  • The camera now follows you as you walk around the Cowork room.
  • Via the “Members” dropdown on the top right corner, you can see all online and offline members and see what their active task is by selecting them.
  • Active task selection has changed. To pick an active task, select your current active task from the Timer tab.
  • Users will now receive audio notifications. There is not a way to turn them off or filter them yet. Enjoy!
  • Clicking a user's name in the chat will now display a popup with the user's active task.
  • Your avatar looks toward your mouse cursor now! Cute!

Bug Fixes

  • I nudged the scrollbar on the stats tab to the right spot.
  • The link to load more chat messages (usually only visible on larger screens) works again.
  • The console is much quieter now.
  • Duplicate avatars are gone for good (I hope).
  • You can't start a timer without an active task anymore. You can probably still join one. Please don't try.

Here’s your #Cowork update.

Bug Fixes

  • The ping/pong interval has been greatly reduced. You still should not timeout as easily, but now there's a little less strain on the app.
  • Expired sessions are now removed.

Here’s your #Cowork update.

Features

  • Update notes are now available via the newspaper icon in the bottom left. (You found it, yay!)
  • Stats now refresh after you finish a timer.
  • When you create your first task, it automatically becomes your active task. Get to work!

Bug Fixes

  • Hopefully, timeouts won't happen anymore.
  • If you've only worked on one task, you can finally see how long you've worked on that task in the Stats tab.
  • One cause of duplicate avatars in rooms has been removed.
  • Remove ended sessions client-side.

Web Monetization is a new way to monetize web games (and any other web content). Users can sign up through a Web Monetization provider (like Coil) to gain access all Web Monetized content, and creators of that content get paid based on the amount of time users spend on their sites. It uses Interledger, a protocol that allows for quick transfers of money, to enable very fast short-term payments.

We can use Web Monetization to earn money from web exported games made with Godot. We can even check if the user is paying and offer them exclusive content if they are! This tutorial offers example approaches to monetizing your web game using Godot and Web Monetization (WM). Check out the demo and source code below.
